Pfc. Theodore K. Mister served in Company C, 38th Infantry Regiment, 2nd Infantry Division and was posthumously awarded the Distinguished Service Cross for actions in Normandy on 13 June 1944.His last words before giving his life were « Come on, follow me ! » Normandy Heroes helped Carolyn Green, who was only three months old when her father was killed, discover where and how her father made the ultimate sacrifice.

On a return visit 2 years later Carolyn Green dedicated a memorial erected with the help of Normandy Heroes in honor of her father and ten of his comrades who died alongside him on 13 June 1944 in Cerisy-la-Forêt.
